Our client wanted to understand a competitor’s near/ medium term planning and position in the Lithium Ion battery market for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles.

Emerging Strategy carried out an in-depth analysis of the target’s position in the LIB business. Our consultants conducted extensive primary research by interviewing over twenty industry insiders. Interviewees included marketing executives and strategy and planning executives at the target company, analysts, government officials, clients, equity research analysts, and various other industry experts. Through our research we were able to provide our client with current, detailed and first-hand knowledge of its competitor’s position in developing its LIB products, its recent customer wins and pending deals, and its technology road-map. We also established the competitor’s near and medium term projected market share. Other key findings included production timing and volumes, R&D and technology decisions, automobile OEM customers, and suppliers.
